Getting ready for November: Learn MORE About our Athletes
Over the past several months Tucson Buckets ABA Inc. has been hard at work developing a strong organization from top to bottom. We have dedicated owners and executives who have put all of their energy and resources on the line to bring something amazing to the city of Tucson. We believe in this opportunity and have been looking for players who believe in the opportunity just the same. This is a chance for every athlete we have chosen to take their basketball skill to the next level and reach a platform that can be lucrative for them.
Most of our players are Tucson bread and/or have strong ties to the city especially in the basketball community. We realize putting a team together from scratch would take blood sweat and tears to accomplish but the overall outcome outweighs the sacrifices that are needed to achieve our organizations aspirations.
After long hours and 3 strenuous tryout sessions done across the city we have narrowed our roster down to the 13 best players who took the opportunity serious and respected the sport of basketball in that process. We decided to not limit ourselves by age and size but open the doors to players who have the drive and vision to see the potential of a grass root organization and capitalize from it.
We want to build entrepreneur spirits and see our player go overseas to expand their dreams as far as they can go. We have issued 1 year contracts to each player that coach Mario Ramirez and his staff has chosen throughout this summer process. We are excited to introduce YOUR Tucson Buckets ABA Roster.
Growing the Tucson Basketball Community
Tucson is a great basketball city with one of the great coaches Lute Olson residing here we have been spoiled with great college basketball for many years. University of Arizona’s recent coach Sean Miller continues to bring that same grit and engaging basketball to the city as well. The Tucson Buckets have similar aspirations. We are in the trenches along with many other amazing coaches and basketball programs around the city attempting to grow the basketball culture organically. The Junior Buckets program that Founder and friend Mike Rubin of Tucson Country Day School has created has grown significantly in the short time we’ve been established. Our owners participate as coaches and trainers for the team and we love every second of the work we do.
It takes time to build the youth basketball in any city let alone a city that has majority of their patrons coming from out of town. Tucson is full of military kids and college students who live here for a moment and may be off in an instant. Keeping and nurturing the talent can be difficult when you constantly go through changes. Trust me getting 10 kids to practice over the summer is a tough task but these coaches around the city succeed at it. We want to help basketball players reach their dreams. If it is just to play college ball and get a good education we want to be the beacon that pushes them towards it. These do not have to be kids in our program but any program, we are fans of basketball and the quality of the game starts with teaching kids how to play it the right way. Tucson Buckets wants to teach the game right and show kids how to have fun on and off the court.
This weekend at the Sporting Chance Center here in Tucson they are hosting their Summer Slam tournament and our Junior Buckets Tournament team (7th-9th grade) will be participating. We have been waiting all summer for this tournament and the players are excited and ready to do some work against all the great competition Tucson and beyond has to offer. For those interested in showing up and supporting this weekend the fee is $5 for anyone over 16. Come out and support the youth in the city. We want to fill the place up and make it one of best experiences of their lives. #GetBuckets
We will be adding pictures and updates on the tournament all weekend long.
